Name: Cameron Ackerman
Age: 29
Apparent Age: 20-40
Gender: Male
Hair: Dark blonde
Eyes: Blue
Appearance:
Code Name: Mockingbird
Powers: Cameron has the ability to copy any sound or voice he hears with 100% accuracy. He is able to mimic accents he hears, as well. After observing the behavior, speech and actions of an individual (whether real or fictional), he can instinctively rewrite his brainwave patterns to completely, 100% assume said individual's personality, and store it within his subconscious mind. The observation can be in the form of actual one on one conversation, or even through video footage. While he cannot duplicate memories, it's not just acting; it's a complete duplicate of the original character's mental state. Not only is it his ability, it's in his nature too (double-dealing; deceitful); he am that he am. He might also be able to communicate with animals by mimicking their noises, depending on difficulty. For example, he may be able to assemble a a group of ravens to grab on to him, effectively allowing him to fly.
He also has a sort of "sixth sense" that allows his voice to trigger a nerve receptor in others within earshot to make them feel extreme annoyance or frustration. He can also do such with any other emotion such as pity, happiness, etc.
Combined with his history, his ability leaves him without a sense of personal sameness (identity crisis).
Background: Having lost his father, in one way or another, Cameron developed a unique affection towards the patron that raised him after his father died: his uncle, who was also in charge of a criminal organization. As a crime boss he typically had command over his subordinates (including Cameron) and profited from the criminal endeavors his organization engaged in. But despite being always surrounded by small-time gangsters Cameron was more drawn to the UK police service from his family's past. Naturally, once he grew to manhood it could not have been avoided he became a trainee for the State police. While living up to the academy’s worst nightmare, he maintained his boyish quality. Shortly after graduation, now a member of State police, his uncle’s active men found out. They gave him an option; provide information about police activities or a hole in the head. With his uncle being his main and only emotional contact, he fulfilled the agreement. This was where his circus-worthy ability manifested; constant double-bluffing built on his frayed nerves, causing him to create another, perfectly performed personality whenever he was on duty, performing as hotshot “detective Ackerman” with an accent identical to a colleague’s that’d come out of nowhere and an apparent polar background as far as social class was concerned. Back at his uncle’s organization he was an entirely different person; the suddenly accent-less troublemaker growing weary because of a loss of identity, jittering along voluntarily, then plunging into moments of death and deceit, while every flip and click of cell phones was like the backstab of a knife. Nobody recognized him anymore as the Cameron he once was, and even if they would, indeed, few people would even remember what his original personality used to be like. By the time the greys of good and evil had puddled into blood-red, he realized that, (especially because of his occasionally slipping copied personality traits and accents causing suspicion) every next corner could be the last he turned and his departure came in an instant. Using a portion of the vast fortune his uncle had accumulated, he left. His uncle’s organization was prepared to pursue him, opening the hunt to kill a Mockingbird--which is how they generally got to call him after they later found out about his ability.
With his ability to copy any sound or voice he hears plus different disguises, neither the police or his uncle’s organization has found him yet.
Anything else you'd like to add: Cameron is not only generally nicknamed after the bird noted for the ability to mimic the sounds of other birds, but also after the novel written by Harper Lee about racial prejudice, relating to it, being a mutant.
Also, if this gets accepted, could you move Anode to the NPC category and replace him with Cameron? I might still make a new account for him (or Cameron) later, thanks!
